General Bio refinery Processes

Bio refinery

In a bio refinery, an ethanol factory converts low forms of energy such as wood shavings, forest filings, and recycled fibre to high forms of energy such as ethanol and lignin fuel. The goal is to create forms of energy that can replace fossil fuels of today that are being used for transport, electricity and heating. Bio refineries can be built according to different processes and the best technical solution is to have a connection to a combined power and heating plant, a cellulose industry or sawmill. This essentially has an effect on the energy balance. Extensive studies have been done by NUTEK to show the relation between different types of bio energy reserves.
